Choua Her, CEO and Co-owner of The Mekong, brings a wealth of experience in social work, policy analysis, and community engagement to her role. Born in a refugee camp in Thailand, Choua immigrated to Minnesota with her family in the late 1980s, where she quickly became an active participant in the Hmong American community. Her early involvement with the Hmong American Partnership, the largest nonprofit organization serving Hmong clients in Minnesota, sparked her passion for social work and community development. This passion has driven her career, leading to her current role as an Advanced Policy Analyst for the Wisconsin Department of Families and Children.
At The Mekong, Choua's responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations, hiring and training staff, and ensuring that the services provided meet the highest standards of quality and cultural sensitivity. Her background in social work and policy analysis has equipped her with the skills to effectively manage a diverse team and create a welcoming environment for all customers.
Choua’s dedication to her community is evident in every aspect of The Mekong, from the culturally specific menus to the personalized service provided to each guest. Her leadership ensures that The Mekong not only meets but exceeds the expectations of its clients, making it a beloved destination for cultural celebrations and family events.
